Cinco de Mayo Festival Outreach
National Day of Prayer
He did and we did on Thursday May 7 at the Colorado state capitol. Several hundred people from various walks of life showed up to worship and pray for our nation and our culture. We had activities on the capitol steps and at Lincoln Park below. Clouds that hovered above the capitol had unusual colors and shapes – enough so that people were commenting on it at some of the evening gatherings. We had reports of someone accepting Jesus as savior, people receiving prayer for deliverance, ministries connecting with one another. A good day in the Kingdom. I believe it also set the stage for the outreach at the Cinco de Mayo festival that weekend and for the March of Glory that will be taking place in the same vicinity in July.

Who we ARE
The sadly ironic thing is that we are known in heaven by a vastly different metric than we are on earth. If each of us knew our calling and really believed it, the unworthiness issue would not be an issue. The subtle lies of the enemy would not work on us. We would rise up to who we really are in Christ. The different parts of the orchestra would work in concert with each other. The bright notes and the undertones would all be played to make a masterful whole.
So here’s the challenge. Ask the Holy Spirit to show you who you are in Christ. How does that fit into the bigger picture? How does what you’re doing augment what the whole Body is doing? Next, think of someone else you know (especially if they drive you nuts). Go through the same thought process for them. Maybe event jot it down and mail them a note of encouragement.
We are all in this together.
for His glory,
Lori

On May 7th the Nation is called to prayer as a part of a National Day of Prayer. In Colorado there will be a State time of prayer taking place at the Colorado State Capitol beginning at 12 noon with additional time in the park just west of the capitol during the afternoon. Across Colorado and in other States there will be gatherings for prayer. There will be Prayer for our communities, our states, for our government, schools, businesses and most importantly our families. These are particularly challenging times and we all need to unite in prayer for each other.
We also need to answer the call to make a difference in some tangible ways. On May 8, 9, and 10, a coalition of churches and other Christian organizations are joining together to pray and collect non-perishable food to help feed families. Come be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ, come make a difference and join as we pray and collect non-perishable food for families in need.

Prayer for Promise Keepers and summer events
This is a two- tier message from Gary Hines. The first part is an email that he sent out conveying that a number of folks who are praying for various events want to pray for each others' events. The second part is the regular "promo" email for PK's next meeting. However, I echo his thoughts that God is breaking the drought and if any of these events are on your radar, please join us on April 21.
for His glory,
Lori

Today it I felt the Lord lay on my heart that as the storms are lining up to come into Colorado to break the natural draught, that He was lining up NDP, HF, PK, MOG and others to break the spiritual draught over Colorado.

Spread the Word - National Day of Prayer!
National Day of Prayer State Capitol Event 2009
This year we have expanded the National Day of Prayer events at the State capitol to span the dates of May 7 through May 9. The official day of prayer is designated as the first Thursday in May, by presidential decree. On that day, followers of Jesus Christ will gather from around the state to worship, pray and celebrate. Our celebration begins at 11:30 a.m. on the West Steps of the state capitol. Following worship and prayer at the steps, at approximately 2pm, we will continue with worship and prayer teams in Lincoln Park, on the west side of Lincoln Avenue. Because many people cannot join us downtown on a Thursday, we have included a second day of prayer and fellowship (including lunch) at Lincoln Park from 11-3 pm. To bridge these two days we are orchestrating a Bible Reading Marathon, to be held at Transformation Net campus, 455 S. Platte River Drive.
To participate in the Bible Marathon, please contact Marolyn Rittenhouse at marolyn@winnministries.org. To help with lunch and prayer in the park, please contact Hank Salmans at hank@winnministries.org. For all other questions, please contact Lori McKinney, lori@thedenvernet.com

Prayer Intercession Network
We want to identify who is doing what and where in the metro area. I know that God has gifted people differently and given them different passions. We want to make the most of what God already has people doing. Going forward, we will share information about things that need to be prayed for, but at the same time realize that various groups of intercessors will take hold of different parts of the prayer requests.
If you would like to get connected with network or if you would like to help with the data gathering, please contact Lori McKinney at lori@thedenvernet.com.

Actually, many of the records in the Hebrew scripture (Old Testament) are data about real people who mattered in the history of God’s Kingdom. One day I happened to be listening to a music CD while reading the Bible. Almost simultaneously, as I began reading a list of names in Nehemiah 3, the singer began singing what sounded like a lament: “If the Lord be for us, who can be against us.” For the first time, I began to see the Israelites laboring to rebuild the wall. That list of unpronounceable names became a record of the pathos of real people with real struggles in very difficult circumstances.
If God wrote something like that today, it would have all the names of the people you labor alongside of. If who built which section of the physical wall mattered that much to God that he had Nehemiah record it, how do you think he feels about those who are rebuilding the walls of the spiritual city and spiritual temple? Where is your name on the Wall?
